Wine of the Week: Lustau Palo Cortado
Sherry is too often marginalized, even by avid sherry
drinkers and lovers, as a specialty drink. Remember, sherry is wine, and one of
wine’s best attributes is its ability to enhance dining experiences. While I
don’t suggest a glass of pedro ximenez with your sole meuniere, many sherries
have extraordinary food pairing potential. This palo cortado from Lustau is an
ideal match for sweet and spicy Asian dishes, meat stews, and curries. Sounds
strange? Maybe, but give it a shot and discover the many pleasures of this
unique style.
